Hello, i am in the process of completing the OPC assessments for trainee conductor for TPE, i passed the first 2 they sent, and these where like the example material they had sent through, but i have sat 2 out of 3 of the new ones they have sent through and they just didn't seem anything like the practice material, for the maths one the practiced material was about stastics etc but the actual test wasn't anything like. I feel like i have royally messed up the train ticket one as again it wasn't anything like as you had to say how many errors was on the ticket but it didnt actually explain it properly in the example of what things meant. And the time to complete was crazy, i didn't manage to finish either of them. I am going to sit the Boden test tonight and then hope for the best.
Did anyone else feel like this when they had done the tests? And if so what was the outcome for you, did you pass or fail.
i know these are designed to catch people out and check for the necessary skills I'm just hoping i have passed them, as i am definitely ready for a change in career.

I think when I had them with TPE I did the SCAAT test instead of the dots.

I too found the ticket checking one strange. Was nt clear what was an error. For example is a customer presenting a Railcard when the ticket doesn't say Railcard an error on the ticket? Not in my book, but for the purpose of the test I think it is. I would approach it as how many errors and disregard the ticket aspect. Also it seemed to include the time it takes to sit the sample questions in the overall time allowance. Meaning when I did mine I only got to question 4. Needless to say I failed. The maths one was nowhere near the time stipulated but I found them easy questions and passed regardless of that.

Hi
How long did it take you to get your results from the final 3 assessments?

Is the Boden test the dots or shapes? I did it last time and dipped because I didn't think that it was explained that well or maybe it was the way that I read it

Hopefully erm not too bad (I hope unless I fail last ones) I had completed some for another toc and their tests I found harder than TPE. Scatt test puts ur eyes to the test for sure tho. Feel like by last page a lot looked the same. How about you?

Keep my fingers crossed for you. And yeah I don't think I blinked for the entirety of that test I'm hoping it went well, just not sure about one of them. This is the first one I have done. Looking for a career change

Well done Daveym19 how did you find the interview? What type of questions were asked?
It’s my first proper interview but threads on here did help. They made me feel relaxed and questions were fair. Mainly around customer service and safety. How you would deal with customers, awkward situations you’ve had in the past, when you’ve shown excellent customers service, discretion. How you would prepare for shift working. What you understand a conductor role to be and why you believe you would be good at the role. Got my conditional offer yesterday just waiting for medical date. Was over the moon I found out so quickly

Hopefully get medical date this week. Start date for the training is 3rd July

Yeah hopefully. Raring to get going. There was 6 questions in total. They actually didn’t which I was a little surprised at. Not sure if every interview is the same as saw on other threads they had been asked about TPE and some also said just 4 questions.
Have you got an interview coming up?
