I have a couple of books that will be useful if you’re attempting to apply for a trainee train driver position , and all my practice material and research. From the online tests. Assessment day and interviews. If anyone is interested you can have it. Just postage please. Let me know. And first come first served.

If these are still available I’d be very grateful. Just the Psychometric stuff as I’ve passed the DMI and awaiting a date for it!

If any is still available, I'd be grateful as well.

If not, what books did you use out of interest? and were there any websites you found particularly useful?

I've started to research seriously the last couple of months - have purchased physics for dummies and Barron's 'mechanical aptitude and spacial relations test'

The trickiest bit I've found in interviews is relating my experience / how I'd apply it to the train driver role. I thought that bit would be relatively easy because I've a lot of flying hours & experience working in a safety critical role, but I must be missing something from my answers!

When you are invited to an assessment day they send you practice material.

Practice the group bourdon available on this website and then use the material sent is my advice.

If you have the skills they are looking for then that will be enough.

Thank you for replying, this has calmed me a bit. Honestly I've got the biggest headache since yesterday. I've been working as a Dispatcher for many years and now plucked up the courage to apply. I've got through to online SJT and have been told that I will be invited to the test centre to do assessments.
I'm Craping myself to be honest and would be ever so greatful if people on here can help and give me guidance please

Everyone worries about tests and everyone wants to pass them to hopefully get the job. The email to receive to invite you to the tests includes a massive document of training material for the tests. Everything else you can fine by using the search function at the top right of the page. Spend your time practicing the Group Bourdon and making any other notes of information you find on the forum.

I used the practice material sent out to me, and I read as much information as I could find on the forum, its all on here, you just have to invest your time researching and making notes.
