It's been made, and I think it's on the DLS.

I'd like to see a 158, 322, and Caledonian Sleeper rake with visible interior and opening doors to bring them up to current standards.

A better model of a 170 would be good (the flat front on the railwaves one annoys me, but hopefully Peter Hicks will release his soon :))

The FSR variants of Peter Hicks 156s to be released :)

The class 166 is of very poor quality
At the moment there is no NSE livered class 117 but there is a regional railways 117,

There is a 4cig but its of poor quality and there is a better version but its only a driving trailer at the moment,

It's currently only a stopgap, and better than nothing.

There is.

That'd be because it's still a beta, and he's only done the interior of the DTCL so far.

To be honest I would rather MSTS or Rail Simulator/Railworks as I have got Trainz 2004 and Trainz 2006 and yet there both crap and there far from impressive too with there crap graphics and sounds let alone the bad quality and detail.

The quality depends on the content you have. I tried MSTS and absolutely hated it, and I find that RW looks pretty but isn't that great, and I don't have the money to buy all the payware.

The built in stuff is never that great, because Trainz depends more on 3rd party content, which is getting a lot better nowadays.

TRS06 had a bug with the sounds, but this has been solved in later versions.

For some examples of the better content;

Plus the majority of the content is free :D

Oh, we have the wonderful ATLS custom level crossings too :D

Nah I still prefer MSTS and RS but thats just my opinion.

I think it depends really what you prefer I like MSTS and RS as I think there better and the add-ons are far better even though there payware.

But at the end of the day everyone likes diffrent things. :)

I've just got a disk of Trainz2004. It loaded and played ok, but how can I add new routes and rolling stock (if at all?). I'm a new user (and getting on a bit!) but would love to get into it. Any pointers gratefully received. Thanks, Mal.

TRS04 is a bit of a pain to do it with, because it was before CMP.
I think your best bet would be to ask the guys at the UKTrainz forums about it, as they will be able to offer you more help.
I think there is a program you can do it with, but I can't remember what it's called (I never used 04; started out with 06)

Built in from TRS06 up.
Built in to TC3/TS09 S&C only (The 9F definately anyway, and an 8F, not too sure about the 7F)
08 shunter
There are quite a few, just type in "Class 08" on the DLS.
One of them;
http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS_viewasset.php?AssetID=134735
Standad Class 5
I think there is one built in to TC3/TS09 S&C.

If it's steam locos you want, I'd recommend getting TC3 or TS09 S&C, as they have much better quality models builtin that are not available for other versions.

Class 350 LM

IIRC someone was converting the 450 into an LM 350, but not sure what happened to that. I think it may have been that he couldn't get permission to release it.

Any modern southern region routes

Brighton to Hastings and Ore I think is one (can't remember the exact name, so it might be slightly different), should be on the DLS.

I now have trainz 2009.It does't come with any new British trains apart from the class 26.

For UK built in content for 09, you need the S&C addon, though that's 1960s stuff.
TS09 added rolling stock content and routes from TC1&2, but didn't add any from TC3. The majority of the changes are to the scripting, and how signalling and things work.
Also the Default_Wagon (I think it's that anyway) is set up for american trains, so a lot of pre-09 UK content, the enginespecs don't work properly.

Are there any decent LTS routes floating around for '04? I downloaded two before but frankly I could do better with one finger.
