I've now switched Traksy over to the new unobfuscated feed. Shout up if you see any issues.

The new feed also throws in a pointless breaking change to the way the data is sent, which I was expecting to stop the site working altogether. It doesn't appear to have broken anything, which makes me slightly suspicious. I'll monitor it over the next week or so, but hopefully we should be able to stay on the new feed

Thanks for the heads-up. Looks like the new feed broke it in an interesting new way at 2am without raising any reports. I'll switch back to the old obfuscated feed until I've got a chance to look into it further

They adjusted a lot of Liverpool services to be timed for 80X instead of 390, so that when the 80X are introduced they can keep time.
Don't know why it's showing 800, I'd expect it to show 80X, 805 or 807

I'm fairly certain the live site isn't capable of showing 80X, although I don't think it will fall back to 800.

The way things have developed over the past few years, it's become impossible to provide any useful passenger-level information from the timing load. It probably never really was, but I knew less about it in the past. Next time I revise it I'll probably just reduce the prominence of the information

One question, which port do you use to feed the diagrams? When I try to use Traksy on my work PC it never connects, I assume our IT have a port blocked somewhere. It works on my phone so I assume it's my PC firewall.

Should all be going through port 443. It's possible they may have blocked the domain, or even the whole of digital ocean, but the most likely scenario is that something is just jammed up in the browser.

If you hit the padlock and "clear cookies and site data", or "cookies", and then delete any cookies/data related to traksy.uk then that may unblock it.

Ah OK. I've just tested port 443 using Telnet, it's blocked in the firewall. It works on my phone though.

I'm no expert with these things, but somewhat ironically the WiFi at my local railway station stops Traksy (and RTT for that matter), yet is fine with social networks (or at least the one that I am on, not that I use it that much)!

Anyway, before I derail the subject of the thread too much, thank you so much for all your hard work in building and maintaining a high quality resource, I think I'd be lost without it

Macclesfield has lost its name - just shows the platforms, hence doesn't appear if one does a search for it.

Ahh, must have dropped it when I did the resignalling. Could you drop an email to info at traksy.uk? Should prompt me to sort it when I next do updates

Possibly the local railway company doesn't like people using resources other than the screens and official sites. Might even be a subtle attempt to bully you into installing their app. Attitudes to 3rd party services vary a lot between train companies.

Having just a service from Hull, heading towards Leeds, it passes over Hambleton West Jnc and then goes missing until it appears after Gascoigne Wood Jnc, so I think a berth is missing here in the wet bound direction only. Can this be added when you have a minute please? Thanks

I'm fairly sure there's a missing berth in the feed, although it may have been fixed when the recontrol got done. Could you send an email so it doesn't get lost?

A Virtual Private Network, it effectively connects your device to the internet through to a different server and then uses that devices internet connection. They're normally used either to create secure connections in work networks or to make your device appear to be in a different location. Phones can definitely use them. Various providers have apps and plans of varying cost (some have completely free plans as well), with NordVPN being the one I use (mainly to listen to UK sports that aren't available in any way here in the Netherlands).

VPN= virtual private network. It's a means of encrypting what you are doing so the local wifi provider can't see what you're accessing. Provided of course access to VPN providers hasn't been blocked too.

Of course the security was actually very shaky when tested. The security has been de-emphasised in recent years though and i’d recommend nordvpn as it gets lots of sponsorships so that’s good to get some money off
