According to the gen on facebook set NL55 will have its first trip out today on the 0950 Leeds - London and 1455 London - Leeds.

Not sure of rest of consist but believe coaches 42238 , 40750 were in the 0950 Leeds - STP . Power cars 43238 and 43309

I suppose that confirms the end of the blue sets imminently (think their previous dispensation letter ran to 31 Dec?)

I notice that back at the time we were discussing further dispensations being needed (around post #861 onwards) they were already in the post...

Looks like it. From what I've read on here, the blue sets can only operate until December 31, 2020.
I can only assume that the 6 month dispensation for the red sets is to give EMR emough time to get the 360s in regular service:
1) 360s start work on London to Corby (ending direct trains north for Wellingborough/Bedford/Luton Airport)
2) this releases the Meridians to work on the main London - Nottingham services
3) HSTs (the remaining red sets in operation) then become surplus to requirements and are pulled from service - likely either preserved or scrapped

If the blue sets (original EMR/EMT livery) can only run until December 31, 2020, then expect them to be on their last journeys relatively soon.
Though personally, I love the HST sets (they're better than the Meridians) so it would be a shame to see them go.

Yes, the avg passenger will, I suspect, find the tired Meridian std class interiors especially a down grade on the HST125 'red sets' which seem much better in contrast and to some MML passengers probably feel like a 'new' intercity train - compared with the HST125 'blue' sets. But the DDA dispensation box will be ticked (even if DDA requirements fit a certain set of prescribed views of disability as per legislation, not so much human reality for many people with disabilities, IMHO).
Toilet waste on track retention pledges will be met too I guess.

The Nottingham services are already 222/180 operated, only a select few morning/evening services are now HST operated.

Hope this fits the thread (tho it's rather the opposite to the title) - is anyone able to post what services any remaining EMR 'Blue' HST sets are operating on over the next day or two - as I assume today and tomorrow (31st) will be their last days in operation given the DDA derogation will expire with close of service on 31st december?

Are any out?

Thanks - most kind of you as I'm not on facebook! Is it the low numbered sets that are 'old' EMT blue ones - ie in this case set NL04 and NL11?

Note that they both end up at Neville Hill tonight, so possible (likely?) one or both may not be out.

EDIT: just checked and the dispensation for them expires at 0200 on 31/12/20. So unless there is a new dispensation signed, today is their last day.

Doesn't really make much sense to end in the wee hours of New Year's Eve, does it? Tonight/the wee hours of tomorrow makes far more logistical sense.

If the “railway day” is used, today‘s timetable day runs until 0230 tomorrow doesn’t it? Perhaps that’s what the intention was...

Saw both NL11 and NL04 earlier. Both sets smart, clean and tidy. They are I guess probably on their final turns now.

Looks like they have finished now as today 4 red sets are out and a 222 on one diagram.
