Going past Canton on an 1148 arrival today there were some depot lads with a 769 (769008 I assume); it had its doors open and also the yellow lights on the side were on. Just an observation!

There is no path planned as yet for 769008 to go to Castle Donington today although 769006 appears to be on it's way down to Canton at the moment.

Staff I got on Facebook are of the opinion 008 is going back this evening. We will have to wait and see what happens. Tfw not had luck getting these 769s delivered this is what the 4th attempt with 006s delivery. Anyway let's hope testing and training begin soon enough

They won’t have been assessed for electromagnetic interference along the route to/from Castle Donnington for one as they’re not planned to work along there.

Ah yes, saw the Tweet so I'm guessing "002" and "006" are at Canton, and "008" is at Castle Donington.

Isn't 006 at Canton? Thought it had been delivered and they took 008 back to fix the vinyls. May have got that very wrong.

769008 has gone into storage at cstle donnington as tfw do not have storage space on depot currently due to the 170s the vinyl wrap is nothing to do with it

That seems such a waste of journey if true. Unless there is something which requires attention on it?

It's been sent to do it's reliability mileage. 006 has done most of it's, with the last part being over 5 days after Christmas. Route clearance and training will then start. 008 will be back in January
