Apparently I've just arrived at Bristol Hauptbahnhof according to this Voyager. Arguably Bristol Temple Meads is the main station though!

Any other fictional, strange or incorrect places you've seen on the network?

London St Pancake, Frighton, Creepy Crawley, Scottport, Burberry Street, Buxton Water and Fold Street spring to mind, although some of these have 'existed' for at least a day.

Does this count? (the "secret" board at Inverness) showing a GBRf train.
Display board showing the 10:xx to various stations from Inverness, as well as the 14:19 to BOATGBF

And similar to above (another GBRf train), I don't think "CHARTER SERVICE" is a station either.
Platform display at Edinburgh station showing Calling at: Charter Service

Not a message board, but there are several pictures out there of a 101 DMU on a rail tour with the destination blind showing “CLUNY BRIDGE”. There was never a station at Cluny Bridge. Story as I understand it was that the blind manufacturer was given a Working Timetable with everywhere they didn’t want on the blind crossed out, but they forgot to cross out Cluny Bridge.

Wales & West/Wessex destination blinds used to feature Newton Abbeywood, a curious combination of Newton Abbot and Filton Abbey Wood. No idea how that came about.

I've seen Engine Shed Junction on the destination board at Normanton.

Then there is Southeastern who rename London St Pancras International on their CIS boards on Pancake Day every year:

London St Pancras International - London St Pancake

Also at Southeastern again they rename London St Pancras International on their CIS boards on St Patricks Day every year:

London St Pancras International - London St Patricks

Not the same as renaming stations but there has also been cases of TOCs adding special messages to boards for various special event things.

I quite like these fun name changes but i do worry that they confuse unfamiliar passengers or foreigners with limited English language knowledge.

I attended the 2006 National League Play-off Final between Halifax Town and Hereford at Leicester City in 2006. Upon returning to Leicester station after the game a special service was indicated to Hereford "next stop the Football League".
