I believe it is due for a new one, nearer to the Shopping Centre.Cheating a bit , but Milton Keynes has an entire unused(nowadays) bus station
National Express uses Bristol Bus Station but Megabus does not. In fact I was told that Megabus doesn't use any bus stations except London Victoria (and I guess they've no option there). Most interurban or what used to be called 'country' services use Bristol bus station, but the tendered T7 to Chepstow stops on the far side of a dual carriageway. Presumably the Welsh Government won't pay the fees.
Here in Newport Megabus stop outside the railway station and National Express the other side of the Kingsway dual carriageway from the bus stations.National Express uses Bristol Bus Station but Megabus does not. Megabus use Stand 1 at Leeds bus station.National Express uses Bristol Bus Station but Megabus does not. In fact I was told that Megabus doesn't use any bus stations except London Victoria (and I guess they've no option there).
OK thanks. This was what I was told by a driver. Perhaps he was just quoting the routes he knew.Megabus use Stand 1 at Leeds bus station.
They use Shudehill Interchange in Manchester. Seldown Coach Station in Poole. Heathrow Central Bus Station. Swansea Bus Station. Glaasgow Buchanan Bus Station. Preston Bus Station. Manchester Airport Bus Station. Edinburgh Bus Station. Sunderland Interchange. Middlesborough Bus Station. Meadowhall Bus Station. Hull Bus Station. Coventry Pool Meadow Bus Station. Oxford Gloucester Green Bus Station. Portsmouth The Hard Interchange. Newcastle (Under Lyme) Bus Station. Norwich Bus Station. Bradford Interchange. Huddersfield Bus Station. Liverpool ONE Bus Station. Birmingham Airport Bus Terminal. Reading Station Interchange. Perth Bus station. Dundee Seagate Bus Station. Aberdeen Union Square Bus Station. Derby Bus Station.
This may not be a complete list. They probably don't have much choice at airports, but they do use plenty of bus and coach stations
They used to stop at an on-street stop in Leeds and overnight services still do.
They used to use the Green Line Coach station in London Victoria - they may be too big for that, now.

Which services don't? I think there are a couple that only serve the bus station in one direction, but nothing that skips it entirely. Not all services call at Batley bus station (West Yorkshire).
I'm pretty sure 283s don't nowadays...Which services don't? I think there are a couple that only serve the bus station in one direction, but nothing that skips it entirely.
That said, I may be out of date as I've not been using the buses as much since the Arriva strikes, and the alterations to services to Wakefield.
I think it still serves the bus station when heading towards Dewsbury, as do the 281s.I'm pretty sure 283s don't nowadays...
At least, the one I was on going towards Bradford on Friday avoided the bus station.
Right, my mistake!I think it still serves the bus station when heading towards Dewsbury, as do the 281s.
I'm off to Dewsbury in a few minutes, so I'll be able to confirm or deny my assumption!Right, my mistake!
I believe it is due for a new one, nearer to the Shopping Centre.
As promised, here's a photo of the departure board at Batley bus station, showing the 281/283 services towards Dewsbury listed:I'm off to Dewsbury in a few minutes, so I'll be able to confirm or deny my assumption!
Many thanks. I should really have known this as a semi-regular visitor to the bus station. As promised, here's a photo of the departure board at Batley bus station, showing the 281/283 services towards Dewsbury listed:
Almost deserted, as usual...Many thanks. I should really have known this as a semi-regular visitor to the bus station.
I see it is quiet as usual then...
Indeed. I've had some rather-too-long/uncomfortable waits (stood up) for 202/203s up the hill from Dewsbury, thankfully not recently.Almost deserted, as usual...
At least they haven't removed most of the seating, unlike at Dewsbury!
Well with the Arriva 14 ceasing and First moving the 74 into St Margaret's soon they'll be two extra bays free shortlyNot enough capacity in Haymarket Bus Station. I guess Savoy Street was introduced for the very reason of it being a transition between the two bus stations.
Indeed, although there are some stand moves planned by Leicester City Council to ease congestion, so we're told.Well with the Arriva 14 ceasing and First moving the 74 into St Margaret's soon they'll be two extra bays free shortly
Don't think anyone has mentioned Northampton Northgate Bus Station
Quite a Few Services Start/Terminate at the Drapery Stops Nearby. NatEx go from an even more isolated set of Stops a Quite a Walk away.
Megabus use Newcastle Under Lyme bus station, which is a few miles from Hanley (Stoke-on-Trent ) bus stationNational Express uses Bristol Bus Station but Megabus does not. In fact I was told that Megabus doesn't use any bus stations except London Victoria (and I guess they've no option there).
Oxford has Gloucester Green bus station, but many routes don't use it - they just do a sort of loop around the Westgate centre instead.
These days it seems that some of the country services use it and some don't. Thames Travel/Oxford Bus Company to the south don't (the routes I'm familiar with, at least, do the Westgate loop); I can't remember what they did before Thames Travel took over in about 2000. I think Arriva towards Aylesbury turn at the railway station; but Stagecoach to Chipping Norton do use Gloucester Green. I'm not sure about other routes. As long as the weather is reasonable, I find St. Aldates or the High Street to be a pleasanter place to wait than the bus station anyway.Even when GG was larger before the 1990s redevelopment, it was only the country services and expresses that used it.
I mentioned that (with a few other examples) in post #36.Megabus use Newcastle Under Lyme bus station, which is a few miles from Hanley (Stoke-on-Trent ) bus station
