Hilarious! I can't imagine how embarrassed those staff members are, will no doubt be getting the p**s taken out of them of fellow staff :P
They look so scripted too! I've seen a few of those whilst they've been working and they don't look as cardboard-y! There didn't seem to be much emotion and it was very hail corporate.
Rob was the only one who stood out as being genuine, although his quote of 30% more staff seems to be a lie. It would be more like 15-20% increase.
I'd personally from my very regular experience using the service at varying times of day and night disagree with much of what those clips talks about.
Friendly and approachable staff are few and far between - most often they are more concerned with playing on their phones or talking in groups, doing very little. You've then got the whole "how many staff does it take to run an automatic gate-line" situation. Very few staff genuinely seem to display pride too. The fact also remains that the majority of stations and trains have no staff (except the operator on trains).
Cleanliness - Yea, right. I've even seen Metro staff dropping litter or cigarette butts just outside the stations. Many of the trains are full of litter, there seems to be no effort to deter people putting filthy feet on seats. I appreciate this is very much a never ending task, but the point remains. White flooring inside the refitted trains was a bad idea here too.
Reliability - Everyone on here knows there are some serious issues here, although granted efforts are being made.
And as for the asset renewal project, we're currently going to see 4 sets from the fleet not be refitted, other projects such as gating have been scaled back and are late with poor implementation, and other aspects have been dropped completely.
The idea of the videos is nice, but before you can showcase such things they actually need to be in place. The parts about check-in/check-out with Pop being a cost saving exercise for the customer are also borderline offensive given the teething problems this has seen.
I'm sure many here will disagree, but this is just my two cents given the levels of service I've seen on other local rail networks.

I was always surprised that Gateshead Metro was never refurbished at the same time the bus station was rebuilt. A missed opportunity there.
To be fair, regarding the trains, some effort is being made to get them clean, especially with the floor, it seems a stronger product is being used for the shine on the floor as you can really tell when the floors has been recently cleaned and both the refurb and non refurb sets and they do look quite smart when they are properly cleaned.
I believe the cleanliness of surfaces is because trains are starting to undergo their annual 'major deep clean'. In a few weeks those same trains will be scruffy again!
Floors should be done on each evening if there has been a spill etc, otherwise they are cleaned once every two weeks. Old floors are polished every 56 days usually.
White was never a sensible colour to have for a floor. It doesn't take a genius to know this, but for whatever reason Nexus decided it would be a good idea.
