President Bush has cut fundings for Amtrak & Via Rail and if this keeps up Amtrak could go out of work and provide HUGE problems, somehow Bush dosent seem to Care!

But there is not much point in Amtrak as it is at the moment some trains are normally 12 hours late such as the Coast Starlight and as there is only one train a day on most routes people prefer to fly or drive as that is quicker and cheaper. If Amtrak get its act together it may stop losing as much money. Every station has at least 2 staff if it has one train a day or 50. As I have just got back form a trip to the West Coast of the USA I know what a state it is in. Booking tickets is now harder from ever as you need ID and reservations on 99% of trains.

If Chuckie Clarke and cronies get their way, it'll be like that here within 10 years...
