Hi there,

I'm trying to work out what the actual walk up fares are for various trips in Italy.

I plan to start of in Treviso Centrale and head towards Verona or Peschiera Del Garda direction one of the days.

Does anyone on this forum know how to find out the walk up fares for such trips? It's a case I'm trying to decide whether it's cheaper to book advance tickets or wait for the walk up fares and get 50% off then...

A non expert response, oending the arrival of Italian experts.
Go to the TI website. Input your journey as for today. Tick "main solutions" and all the journey options appear.
On the Frecce trains the Base fare is walkup, as are all Regional fares - which are very much cheaper.

I don't know if this is any help, but here goes:
I was in Sicily recently and bought a couple of walk-up single tickets (full price, no discounts).
The tickets showed the km for the trip, and "Tariffa 39/16".
I typed this into Google and got some pages from the Trenitalia site which list the tariffs for various regions in Italy - seemingly the fares are different across the regions.
Tariffa 39/16 is for Sicily.
Here's the index page: http://www.trenitalia.com/cms/v/ind...nnel=eefd75b46c41a410VgnVCM1000008916f90aRCRD

I guess you need Tariffa 39/21 (Veneto). http://www.trenitalia.com/cms-file/...rea_clienti/TARIFFA_39_21_Veneto_tcom2014.pdf
I think this is only available on the Italian version of the site.
The first page seems to be the Base fare ("Ordinaria"), and there are tables for various levels of discount as well.
I hope this is what you were looking for.
Of course you'll need to know the distances - they are in the European Rail Timetable or in the full Trenitalia timetable. http://www.trenitalia.com/cms-file/...ioni/orario_digitale/Tuttitalia_light1106.pdf
Or just for Veneto: http://www.trenitalia.com/cms-file/...ario_digitale/RegionaleTriveneto_ott_2017.pdf
