Dear all,
I was just wondering if anyone could suggest a video editing software that does not
take the natural colour out of the video or videos.

The one I currently use seems to take the full colour out of the video when I drag
and drop it to the editing software and as a result it is as almost if there is a
white 'mist' in the entire video (this is without doing anything to the
video after I have dragged and dropped it into the editing software to be edited)

The videos that would be edited are intended to be uploaded to YouTube. I currently use Movie Maker.

If anyone has any idea why this is happening and/or could suggest a video editing
software/programme where it does not take the natural colour out of the video this
would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

I haven't really got into it, but the one I have which I find adequate for the little I do is Avidemux. If you're seriously into it, I've come across Da Vinci Resolve (software is free, manual is 1200pp, specialised hardware to make full use of it £000s). Or try googling 'best video editors', which is what I tend to do, and see what the reviewers think...

I will take a look at these. Thanks for the info.

I would recommend Resolve as said above for free editors!

If you're willing to go to the dark side or already have acess to a mac, iMovie is a good start and Final Cut Pro is very user friendly and only a one time investment!

Another big vote for DaVinci Resolve, - I used the free version for three years and although it had a steep learning curve, it has so many facilities. Last year I upgraded to Resolve Studio for £249.00, (Premiere Pro costs more than that per year to rent). As for changing colours, I'm not aware of any editor that does that other than when the user set's it to do that. Resolve is the standard for professional colorists across the industry, - you can do almost anything with the colours including preserve them as they are in the original footage. It's true that Resolve benefits from powerful platforms but I run the free version on my 'office' PC which has an i3 processor, and 8GB of RAM shared with Intel graphics. It struggles with UHD/4k video but it is OK for the odd HD project.
