Hello Folks. Has anyone had any experience of downloading and using the above concentration test? It appears to cost £14.99 to buy. Is it worth it and has it helped people pass the dreaded 30 minute concentration test? Or does anyone know of any free tests available to download?
Any views/thoughts greatly received. Thanks.

Save your money. If you have Microsoft Word just put a grey square in the middle of it and stare at it for 30mins. On the day aswell you might work out a pattern in the room of when the black square will pop up.

I didn't use any outside source other than the examples provided by the toc to practise this test. I found it very simple. I honestly couldn't justify spending £15 for extra practise material. You will be fine if you just spend the time to complete the material sent to you a few times.

Placing a grey square in the screen and staring at it won't help me practise my reaction. Also, there will be no pattern to the reaction test on the day because I thought the idea is that it is completely random to test your concentration. Has anyone actually purchased and used this software who can provide some meaningful feedback? Thanks.

Sorry for offer meaningful advise . As someone who have completed the test without missing or hitting the button incorrectly I think I know what I'm talking about. All you're going to be doing is looking at a grey square and hitting a button when it goes dark. But keep up with that attitude it will get you far in life,.

I'm aware what the test involves. I was seeking opinions on the software from people who have purchased and used it. But thank you for sharing your experience with the forum.

Tbh, I borrowed the program from my friend, it's crap and the best bit of advice I can give for the test is to concentrate like nothing else mattered for them 32 mins, keep your eyeballs moist by regularly blinking. This worked for me and I was also thinking of tunes that were 5 mins long, that helped too

That's also wack, there's a clip on YouTube by the developers that shows the exact same clips you'll encounter along with how the 2Hand test works.

I'm afraid what traininday has said is spot on. You will notice a pattern to it and its not random everyone does the same test. I dont think its to hard at all its just done at the end of a very long draining day, just like driving a train really.

For what it's worth, Traininday makes a valid point. This test is really quite simple and as long as you can concentrate for half an hour (which lets be honest, if you can't then you've applied for the wrong job) you'll be fine. If you feel like spending money for your own peace of mind on some daft practice test then go for it, but I really wouldn't pay this test too much attention (until the day!).

For me,it was the easiest of all the assessments.
I don't think buying any practice cd would help.
Tips would be: don't rest your fingers on the button as I did because I managed to push it by accident.
When it gets tough near the end just steady deep breathing helped me focus.
And telling yourself not much longer,not much longer.
If you do make a mistake,you haven't failed,just don't give up,keep going and don't miss it again.

how did you find the Written Comms. test? not much is ever said about this part

Most TOCs have dropped it apart from GWR, SWT and HEx, which I think all three have different versions.
