Do you ever use the rail network for recreational walking? If so, you may be interested in www.railwalks.co.uk. Could you come to our first meeting on March 9th?

A group of us set this up earlier this year with one main aim: to create a national network of walks between railway stations. Our first meeting will be in Worcester next Saturday and we have been gradually growing our mailing list (320 at the last count - 44 coming to the meeting). Links to both are on the homepage.

I've just stumbled across the nascent Railwalks effort. These are some of the walks done by Steve Melia, aka the Green Travel Writer, between railway stations around Bristol, where he lives. The purple and blue lines are day walks. The orange ones involved an overnight stay Railwalks.co.uk...
