Wasn't that only because a diversion left part of the route unaccessible and meant they needed to do a shuttle service though
Yes, she's proved to be useful. She's done a few trips on the 90 and appeared on the extra '3C' dupe in the afternoon, too, as the Hucknall shuttle only runs when Holgate school are attending.

Ah right. Bet the company's glad they didn't end up sending some volvos to TM. Especially if 703 is going to be at Sutton more long term than originally intended

As far as I'm aware it'll be leaving Sutton after the 20th December following the end of the roadworks - of course anything is subject to change depending on operational requirements.

I’m assuming after it leaves Sutton it will head to Langley Mill for painting into Mango livery.

Do they have an in-house laser cutter then to cut sticker material into precise letters?
Looks as if management get people busy during a slow afternoon shift put stickers on/off buses.
Then on another day, they paint yet another bus into Mango livery. All those different colours.

No laser cutter no, there's a workshop across the road from Sutton Junction that makes the vinyls to the specs of the vehicles. (They're then cut to spec by the team across the road)

The bus hasn't needed to be used during half term so it's been a good time to do it.

I doubt they ever do. I'd imagine with the computer laser devices, cutting out artwork has probably never been easier.
Correct but also we are very lucky to have a great team at the Langley Mill engineering support unit who work very hard to come up with the goods on a regular basis, especially this last 2 years where their workload has been huge.

Some work being outsourced too like the speciality work for the skylink express being done at bus and coach world & some notts + derby repaints outsourced.

In other news it looks like connect branded solo 486 will be returning to service, too as it has now moved to inside the Langley mill workshop from the back row outside.

Yes, Notts and Derby have had an Enviro 200 painted at Stoke and a few painted at Charnwood Commercials at Hayhill . 74 is away somewhere at the moment. Presume that will turn up painted like 73.

I know that the N&D school and unibus services are open to the general public, but how much are they actually used by non students? Might it be an idea to run the school buses a few more times throughout the day (obviously not to the schools themselves) to bring in a bit of cash and get some more use out of the deckers which spend quite a lot of time sat at the depot?

The U1 seems to be getting more popular... I think the public did not realise they could catch it .. Been a few on when I have caught it. Maybe passengers knows they can get to the Railway Station and the Florence Nightingale Community Hospital. I've caught it to the Uni from Friargate to save a walk.

They did try with the JCB academy buses with 1 doing extras on the swift and later 50 between Uttoxeter and Derby but I think most of the time it was carrying fresh air.

Notts and Derby have acquired fun sized Enviro 200 YX61 DVT. It arrived at Meadow Road circa 14.15. It was new to Newport Transport fleet number 307.

Who is this service aimed at? It doesn't look like it serves anywhere that isn't already.
Seems to only be useful for journeys to/from the hospital - it does provide a link to Havenbaulk Lane and parts of Highfields which don't get buses now, and potentially journeys from Mickleover to those areas, but getting to Mickleover from there would need a change of bus.

I believe the Link 2 will run in the gap between these services and run to other parts of Mickleover and Mackworth in a circle, ending up at the hospital again.

It links housing areas to shopping areas and to the Royal hospital where there is not currently direct links...Now I'd have thought in the case of the hospital, that was good, given the closure of the main car park for up to 2 years. It might well make people use the bus rather than a car or taxi.

My assumption is that it’s providing a direct connection to the hospital for Heatherton, Pastures Hill and Littleover village centre. When I walked up the upper half of the Haven Baulk Lane and The Hollow I couldn’t see one bus stop even though logically you’d think there would be one.

Years ago, there were services along Havenbaulk Lane. Derby City Transport route 30?

Effectively one bus will start in Highfields then run to Heatherton, then Littleover Village, then Manor Road to Royal then Mickleover (Tesco) then Station Road then Langley Park then through to Henley Green, Kingsway, Royal, Mickleover Tesco, Havenbaulk Lane to Highfields....

No, runs until this Saturday. It might run for one other Saturday based on the road works on Nottingham Road
That'll be the 16th and 17th of November that its closed again. A lot of passengers getting on it not realizing its free, mainly on the main notts road part though (where 32 starts to run on), up towards where central connect operate most people know its free (and glad its a big bus!).

Yes, 16th and 17th November, but it doesn't run on Sundays. I've seen the ENCTS Vectare breadvan special arrive in Derby about 10.00 quite heavily loaded, even a standing load.
