Looks like work may be almost complete, to allow 5-car LO units to be stabled near Stonebridge Park station. I have seen contractors working on the tracks parallel to the road bridge into the Royal Mail Distribution Centre for several months. Today, in pouring rain, I grabbed these photos of a train actually on the tracks there...

Work is far from complete, I am hearing that it will be December before the sidings are actually in use. Were the pictures taken last Sunday? There was a train booked in during the day to test the new signalling interface but it still has not been fully commissioned.

PS The location is Wembley C Sidings, not Willesden ;)

Oops, didn't notice that
Interesting that they had a further days testing using a train bearing in mind that the signalling still isn't in use, did you see if the unit went right into the sidings or did it just sit where it is in the pictures?

Sorry, I didn't have time to wait around, to see if it went into the sidings. I was late for work and it was raining hard ! But yesterday I noticed a pair of 'calling-on' signals (I don't know the technical term) at ground level, just out-of-shot to the left of where the train was at a stand. There is a pair of tracks on this bridge now, where before I am fairly sure there was just one

You are correct, there was only one track on the bridge before, a couple of the existing signals and one set of points have been moved with one new signal and one new set of points provided, apart from those in the sidings themselves. I am guessing that the train in the picture is standing at the first signal for the new "C" Sidings control panel.

Had another unit in today (28/08), 378 220. (Sorry the pic is the wrong way round, got no idea how to rotate it without faffing around on the desktop PC which is miles away the moment! )

The sidings are now in use; at present there are two units stabling each night and one route learning trip which visits twice during the day. The latter is usually a class 172 and must be the cleanest unit in the country that day as it gets a wash each time it goes in and out
