That's interesting, I presume it means that the Wensleydale have found the money to upgrade the level crossing lights on the Northallerton section.

Interesting. Any idea what the traction is likely to be? T&T 47s or something boring like 66s?

Shame it isn't something more interesting than probably 66s, 67s would be nice to get some extra speed on the ECML as I'm sure some other forum members will confirm, York to Kings Cross behind a 66 taking nearly 4 hours will turn into a drag, especially once it gets dark.

[That assuming it will routed along the ECML between Peterborough & York, and not get sent via Spalding/Ferrybridge]

Although I am tempted, mainly as I need the connection from the ECML towards Northallerton West, and it would be nice to revisit a line.

I’d consider it from York if it wasn’t only £20 less than the trip from London; seems very steep given the relative mileage.
