The 12 four car 331s will be based out of Liverpool working stopper/express services.

Most platforms on services out of Liverpool are not long enough to take 6 car 323s.

Yep, exactly why they are getting four cars. Manchester-Preston line platform extensions are pretty much complete and ready for six car 323 running
*hint hint* pls send the next ones up. We’ve got two car DMUs covering multiple EMU diagrams every day now.

What will eventually replace the 323s at Northern?
Rough guestimate says at least 10 to 15 years left of life on 323s added rumours of being fitted with batteries I doubt any discussion has occured yet.

Are there likely to be 323s still running in Birmingham in July? I'm staying there for a weekend and wouldn't mind getting a trip on one on the Cross City line before they go.

How many of the West Midlands 323's are needed with Northern before more of the 331/0's can be transferred to Yorkshire to accomodate 6 car trains on the Airedale and Wharfedale Line?

An interesting question. Blackpool North to Manchester Airport should return to six cars when all of the 323s have arrived.

There may be one or two, but 730 rollout on the cross city is expected to begin in April, so it’s highly unlikely unfortunately.

It depends how well the 730 introduction goes. I would imagine there be a few still about. But best to check back in closer to the time.
I believe it's already been said the repaints will start once the majority of the units have been moved.

I believe 7 - To the best of my knowledge there are already nine 331/0s in Yorkshire and 16 will be required to work six carriage trains on Leeds to Skipton and Ilkley services.

Allerton lost 24 units 15 x 319 and 9 x 331/0 and gained 12 x 331/1 and 3 x 323. With 14 x 323 still to come that would mean Allerton should only lose another 5 units.
Hello,is there anyone that can help me today please, I'm in Birmingham New st from 1000 till 1240 I'm hoping to knock off my last couple of 323s I need for haulage can you please state if 202,203,217,220 qnd especially 240 are due to pass through in that time frame many thanks
