Saw 5Q65 1248 Tyseley Lmd to Soho.
From the wheelatheat Tyseley, returning to Soho was 323243, However 37884 Cepheus was doing the honours. Happily burbling around Small Heath.
On full Volume as usual. 323243 now back at Soho.

323243 was dragged back to Soho yesterday, so perhaps it will be out soon.323240 and 323243 being dragged through New Street in the next hour or two presumably off for tyre turning at Tyseley for the weekend.

Is the 730 roll out still expected to begin in April and then all 323s gone by June? That seems to be a very fast withdrawal - December might be more reasonable.

April has been mentioned for the rollout however no official date as has been mentioned yet I believe. Not sure on the withdrawal date, But June in my opinion does seem quite fast. Quite ambitious to get the whole rollout done in 8 or so weeks, as that works out at around 1-2 diagrams a week to replace with their being 13 diagrams.

Since last report:
Next two WM units identified for transfer to Northern in April - 323202 & 323206
323211 and 323214 are out of action at Soho and Wolverton respectively.
All other WM 323's have been seen out in the last week except 323213, including the two that went to Tyseley for tyre turning.

Brilliant list thanks.
One query. 214 is obviously having money spent on it at Wolverton but is not on the list going to Northern so likely to be stored.
Why spend the money?

Because WMT are contractually required to under the terms of the lease.

I would presume it would need to be handed back to poterbrook in working condition. I believe the plan (someone correct me if I'm wrong) is for the 9 to be placed in warm storage on hand back from WMT.

The 5T91/5J65 Northampton working is unusual. I see that these two paths can be used M-F, but aren't used all that often. Is it route learning for ROG crew ready for more 323's to head to Wolverton?

On Thur I spent over an hour at New St and saw all 19 specified on PTS and 211 213 at Soho leaving just 014 (at Wolverton) and 005.
Had 20 mins the next morning before leaving and first one I saw was 005 solo so 22/22 that were possible. Pretty lucky!

Hunslet has tweeted about the next unit to transfer north after 202 and 206.

Could be worse, Could be 100 trips to Redditch!
it's a 3 hour round trip to between Lichfield and Bromsgrove so would only be able to fit 4 round trips a day usually
