My Panasonic camcorder broke recently and I'm wondering what everyone else uses so it gives me a good idea of what to buy as a replacement.

Although I don't (any longer) shoot video with a camcorder - I shoot it using 'stills' cameras instead, some of which have excellent video capabilities these days - the big players in the market are Panasonic, Sony, and Canon. That said, like with lower-end stills cameras, the camcorder market is suffering badly from everyone using their phones to shoot video...

These links will give you an idea of prices for Panasonic - https://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/Panasonic/Panasonic-Camcorders , Sony - https://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/Sony/Sony-Camcorders and Canon - https://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/Canon/Canon-Camcorders

As for performance - Sony and Panasonic seem to be the favoured brands from what I read occasionally - the higher-end consumer models from both of those should have excellent stabilisation and picture quality, so I'd try and find a decent shop where you can pick them up and see what they are like to hold/use.
