Hi

I've got a face to face interview on Friday (12/04/19) for trainee train driver with Northern what questions do you think will be thrown at me?!

Its the first interview I've had in 16 years so a bit out of touch in techniques also!!

Many Thanks if you can help and if there is anyone else on here going for interviews all the very best of luck to you.

Despite many on here saying it’ll be either like the MMI or type of questions like ‘explain a time you’ve dealt with an emergency’, mine yesterday was purely a competency interview and except one question about why I wanted to be a train driver.

Therefore be prepared for every eventuality.

Many thanks. Did they ask about abbreviations?

No mate, nothing about the company etc either but that wasn’t for Northern though so just prepare for both situations.

I also have a have an interview coming up with Northern. I have tried to find how to send a private conversation to share some tips on this.

If you know how to do it, please do and we can share tips

If you think about logically..what are they looking for? Good communicator, loyal worker, certain level of intelligence, good common sense, mature, responsible...I know that takes out about 99% of people. (especially the young uns) but you get my drift?

Why do you REALLY want to be a train driver....and will you make a safe one
