I presume it's mainly wagon maintenance, so possibly lots of time in the van going to various yards to carry out any running repairs required working outside in all weathers, or possibly based at one of their main centres carrying out maintenance in a nice covered shed with a pit and all the required tools to hand.

What area are you looking at? Technicians at Freightliner( intermodal) will look after terminal equipment like gantry cranes, load stackers etc.
Freightliner Maintainance will have mechanical/electrical fitters which is loco work(depot based)or wagon fitters who are often mobile and take care of maintainance and repairs of rolling stock out in the field.
