I have been collecting small items of railwayana for many years but you always seem to have a particular affection for the first item you ever acquired. Mine was a small brass BR arrow badge, given to me by a very kindly member of BR staff at Paddington in 1975, who at the same time gave me a few window labels. Its not rare or valuable but brings back some happy memories.

Does anyone have any stories of the first item they collected?
