Drink Less Alcohol
I've never been what I'd personally define as a heavy drinker but I have nonetheless consciously reduced my alcohol consumption the past 6 months or so. On average I probably drink on 3 or 4 days a months now, and that includes drinks with a meal.

Might it be possible to undo the screw on the back of the buckle and release the belt so that one can cut away a few cm? New belt unnecessary!
Lots of people doing that today. Where were they all 2 weeks ago when it was sunny?
Happy today because I just collected my daughter, her partner and my young grandson from the airport. They had been abroad for over 2 weeks I and I had missed them all, especially my grandson who is only 19 months old - he greeted me with a huge smile which although such a simple thing it made my heart melt......

Yes I've just had it too. Ironically, I barely use Nationwide anymore. Last entry in my passbook is from 2013 when I had £146 in there. I'll have to pop into the branch and get them to update it!

Just about to go to Rugeley Trent Valley for the short hop train to Stafford. Then into the Sun Inn for a few pints of excellent Titanic Brewer fine ales. I feel happy already, and will probably be happier still in a few hours time

They used to do a brew called Titanic Wreckage - appropriately named as it was about 8%!!
Still waiting for my nationwide emails…
I was in the Sun Inn on Monday night, doing the Pub Quiz with my girlfriend. What made me happy today was that I bagged GBRf 66742 on cement whilst walking back home along the Isabel Trail this morning

Steerage is my favourite Titanic beer. Only 3.8% but very nice taste. I used to drink the Plum Porter but it got a bit heavy for me. I also like the Titanic Stout as an occasional one for the road.

I enjoy this railforums during my scheduled work breaks and after work though I no longer live in the UK.
It is also not snowing so nice to drive today without black ice and fresh rock chips for road adhesion peppering my car. [edit: salt does not work below -10 so they use Pickle mixture (3% salt, 97% fine gravel)]
Lastly the imported UK food section at the local supermarket when things go on sale like Galaxy and Yorkie bars!

I would hate having that happen to my car!
I was happy today because my young grandson gave me his first proper kiss (on my cheek). Before now all he has managed to do is get saliva all over my face!

Car-nerd thing made me happy today: it had a professional full valet today. A lot of German Shepherd hair removed!
Now it looks and smells pristine again.
A new set of truly wonderful Continental All Season 2 tyres, plus a bottle of Wynns fuel system cleaner, I am happy that it's all ready for next Monday's MOT.
Then - this gorgeous Aston Martin rocked up beside where I was waiting; and it made my inner car-nerd happy, too.
Now it looks and smells pristine again.
A new set of truly wonderful Continental All Season 2 tyres, plus a bottle of Wynns fuel system cleaner, I am happy that it's all ready for next Monday's MOT.

Visited two splendid pubs in Wapping today, the Town of Ramsgate and the Prospect of Whitby. Both had very good beers and VERY reasonable prices for London. I can thoroughly recommend them to you.

I used to drink in those pubs (and also in Narrow Street's The Grapes) when I lived by Victoria Dock and then by Kijg George V Dock. First proper kiss or not, a kiss off your children/grandchildren, dry or sloppy, is probably one of the most wonderful things you can get

I don't recall ever had direct contact with them, but removing unnecessary layers of bureaucracy in any organisation surely has to be a good thing.

A phone call from the oncologist telling me that the recent blood test shows that my PSA remains very low. This means that my prostate cancer remains under control, as it has been for almost 3½ years. There's a slight cloud on the horizon in that the medication is said to remain effective for five years on average, so I'm well on the way towards that time, but I hope to be an above average performer. Since the published cost is £72 per day (though the NHS gets it at a confidential discount) I'm very pleased about the health service we have in Britain.
Now that's excellent news for all three of you! I know we're all strangers on an Internet forum but I sincerely wish you all the best.
Something that made me happy today - bumping into one of my friends in town at random, and getting to qucikly point and say (as walking past as this happened at a pedestrian crossing) 'I've seen you somewhere before!'. It's the little things.
