Would it be another locomotive or directly switch to ICE-4?
I would have thought ICE4 more likely just for capacity.SBB has bought 7 Stadler Giruno equipped to run in Germany. Probably these will eventually replace the current services.
They should order more for EC Transalpin. Btw the EC coaches will be switched for replacement trains?SBB has bought 7 Stadler Giruno equipped to run in Germany. Probably these will eventually replace the current services.
Stand-by sets=Ersatzzug? The plan is to use EC stock as stand-by sets in Switzerland. SBB Giruno was certainly in the discussion for the Cologne/Hamburg service. Also ICE4 starting at Basel.
What about the EuroCity Transalpin? The plan is to use EC stock as stand-by sets in Switzerland. SBB Giruno was certainly in the discussion for the Cologne/Hamburg service. Also ICE4 starting at Basel.
ICE-4 starting at Basel? What do you mean? ICE-4 are no longer going to Interlaken/Zürich?The plan is to use EC stock as stand-by sets in Switzerland. SBB Giruno was certainly in the discussion for the Cologne/Hamburg service. Also ICE4 starting at Basel.
yes, Ersatz-Zug.Stand-by sets=Ersatzzug?

Much more likely to be RJ sets when it falls due for replacement, as it's partly OeBB stock anyway. It could then use the Koralmbahn which you've got another thread on.What about the EuroCity Transalpin?

It can use the Koralmbahn anyway as long as it is Taurus hauled (ie ETCS fitted).Much more likely to be RJ sets when it falls due for replacement, as it's partly OeBB stock anyway. It could then use the Koralmbahn which you've got another thread on.
I think the most probable way is use EC250?Could use the Koralm with or without RJ, but is not planned to.
The EWIVs will then be scrapped?yes, Ersatz-Zug.
Currently the EC trains still run to Zürich and Interlaken, however that is open to discussion due to the lack of punctuality coming from Germany.

aka Giruno? Still less likely than RJ - why would you diagram an odd Giruno to Graz when everything else in the area is RJ?I think the most probable way is use EC250?
What about the driving trailer?Thought a few EWIV had already been scrapped, albeit only the worst early high milers to provide parts for others (the earliest are getting on for 40 now!)
EWIV and EC wagons (driving trailers) are different types. As there are fewer and fewer options for using these types due to the Disability Discrimination Act, some of the carriages will be disposed of. Another part will continue to be used as reinforcement coaches in trains with low-floor access after being refurbished. Another area of use is on lines where there is already a basic level of service with low-floor trains. What about the driving trailer?

Are they surplus to requirements? The ICNs can also be used for replacement trains.
not sure hahahahaAre they surplus to requirements?
substitution on Graz-Przemysl? What substitution? ED250? Or just PKP Coaches?Panoramawagen are not getting any younger. Someone recently mentioned a substitution on the Graz-Przemysl.
No info but my guess is that SBB being SBB will lovingly keep a few in use until they are no longer viable on non-critical work such as the existing Gotthard Panorama Express or something similar.
It's not going to be an ED250, is it?!substitution on Graz-Przemysl? What substitution? ED250? Or just PKP Coaches?
Presumably an ordinary1st class coach It's not a fixed formation train.not sure hahahaha

Or just one vehicle. Maybe a normal first class Apm rather than a panoramic, or an ÖBB vehicle, or...
What about the driving trailer?
So ICE-4 may no longer go to Switzerland?Currently the EC trains still run to Zürich and Interlaken, however that is open to discussion due to the lack of punctuality coming from Germany.
Most likely less than what currently is the case unless they find another solution. So ICE-4 may no longer go to Switzerland?
That was never considered.Splitting the München to Zürich EC is also under discussion but I doubt they do that.
