Liverpool South Parkway > Garston
West Allerton > Allerton
Wavertree Technology Park > Wavertree
St Helens Junction > Sutton
St Helens Central > St Helens
Green Lane > Tranmere
Maghull > Maghull South
Hall Road > Blundellsands
Blundellsands & Crosby > Crosby
I would have to disagree with changing West Allerton to Allerton. It is right where Allerton, Mossley Hill and almost Aigburth meet. It's two minutes from my house and I'm in Mossley Hill. Its current name is pretty bang on the money. Wouldn't argue with the rest although some may have a sentimental attachment to the current name .

New Pudsey. Its only 'New' because it replaced the old Pudsey station on the pudsey loop. But its not really in Pudsey and serves a swathe of W leeds. W Leeds parkway?

I would rename Preston park to withdean (stadium) because it's closer to withdean than it is to Preston park.

Personally i would rename all of the following stations:

• East Midlands Parkway -> East Midlands Airport

Whilst I agree with you to some extent, this implies it is easy to get to the airport from the station, which it isn't. I can't remember if we're in the era when there is a bus service or not but it's far easier, or at least more straightforward, to get a bus from Nottingham/Derby/Leicester than it is to get the train to East Midlands Parkway and make your way from there to the airport. It's only really useful for people driving there to get a train to somewhere else, which is a great shame as it's really not far from the airport at all.

I did point that out in post #49. There is one local bus service at the station operated by a minibus, but it doesn't currently serve the airport.

change it to weston super mud

and Grange over sands to grange over mud.

:)

I've heard Grange Over Sands since get called.....'Grass Over Sands' as the beach has now since disappeared after the spartina grass has ended up growing unchecked all over the beach & area coastline.

It's now quite normal to walk along the prom at Grange & see sheep grazing on the "beach" as they feed on what has now become a saltmarsh.

The beach has now gone, replaced by miles & miles of grass.

'Grass Over Sands'. The "beach" at Grange-over-Sands (C) Kate Jewell :: Geograph Britain and Ireland

I do a nice honey mustard leg of lamb/shoulder of lamb.

I have heard of saltmarsh lamb, but not had any ..yet.
My auntie in mid Wales has cooked saltmarsh lamb in the past, she used to do it in a honeyed mint dressing.

Mmmmmm :D

Sorry...I'm digressing.

Skegness > Langley Mill on Sea
Other, less polite alternatives, are also available.

What's it called? It's called Cumbernauld
Weston-Super-Mare to Where's the Sea?
Reading to Reading General (as Reading West is nearby, and there are proposals to open a Reading Green Park station)
Oxford to Oxford General (being as there is an Oxford Parkway nearby)
Bristol Parkway to Bristol Parkway for Stoke Gifford (I believe that Stoke Gifford was its original name when built)
Clydebank to Clydebank Dumbarton Road
Singer to Clydebank Montrose Street
Edinburgh Park to Edinburgh Hermiston Gait (there is no such location as Edinburgh Park)

Millbrook (Beds) to Marston Moretaine, as the latter is nearer and it would remove one of the confusing "doubled up" station names that occasionally cause issues such as on this thread:

https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/help-with-getting-£669-60-refunded-after-i-was-sold-the-wrong-ticket-and-fined-a-penalty-fare-also.174600/

Annoyingly, the other one that I'm aware of, Hope (Wrexham) and Hope (Derbyshire), don't have anywhere near the station to rename them to that isn't already the name of another station! :)
what about Hope for Castleton?

Croston renamed to ..Croston & Bretherton

Layton renamed to ...Layton & Warbreck

Gathurst renamed to ...Gathurst & Shevington ...
Or reverting back to Gathurst (for Shevington)..incidentally that was the actual name that it carried up until the 1970s
I can still remember the signage at Gathurst being the modern 'corporate image' BR black lettering on white declaring GATHURST (for Shevington) with the Shevington suffix being underneath in smaller blue lettering.

Anyone remember that at Gathurst?

Back in the 1970s Upholland used to have the BR 'corporate image' black &white signage declaring....UPHOLLAND (for Skelmersdale) with extra signs reading....'Alight Here For Skelmersdale New Town'.

I would also rename Ockley to either "Capel & Ockley" or "Ockley & Capel" as the station is located pretty much exactly half way between the two villages.

Grange over Grass it is then; rolls off the tongue nicely.

Liverpool Street and actual Liverpool stations must get mixed up.

I vote for Station McStation Face.

Martins Heron -> Martin's Heron, purely because I like to think that Martin has a heron.

Or maybe Heron of Martin? ;)
