Hi all, I live in Yorkshire and wanting to see some of these units, whats the best way for me to find when and where they are running? Think i've heard some run to Leeds but would be good to know how to find this out specifically, maybe with RTT?

Thanks in advance.

For 91s, there's a list of the long-term plan diagrams at https://225group.org.uk/operations.

The current reduced timetable means that only three diagrams seem to be running midweek at the moment:

1Y00 – 0440 York to London KX 0701
1D06 – 0833 London KX to Leeds 1047
1A26 – 1115 Leeds to London KX 1331
1D17 – 1403 London KX to Leeds 1616
1A41 – 1645 Leeds to London KX 1901
1D30 – 1933 London KX to Leeds 2147

1A04 – 0605 Leeds to London KX 0831
1N81 – 0906 London KX to York 1130
1Y84 – 1202 York to London KX 1424
1D33 – 2133 London KX to Leeds 0011

1A13 – 0656 Skipton to London KX 1000
1D10 – 1033 London KX to Leeds 1248
1A31 – 1315 Leeds to London KX 1531
1D23 – 1703 London KX to Leeds 1917
1A50 – 1945 Leeds to London KX 2200
1N36 – 2300 London KX to York 0129

If you are patient then the XC service via Leeds will see several HST sets a day pass through again if they can resource it again later in the winter. Seems to be mostly just Sundays and an odd balancing allocation for them currently. If you Google "Midland Pullman" for the dates list the specially repainted blue dining set occasionally passes through Yorkshire to access the Settle to Carlisle railway along with other itineraries it will sometimes feature on. The owners also run Skipton to Carlisle HST services most days in the summer holiday under the Staycation Express nickname via Rail Charter Services (again Google their website for dates once released).

Network Rail sometimes run its test train HST sets in Yorkshire too.

For info on these it's sometimes worth being on this group too hstgen.co.uk/index.php for developments

If you want to see lots of HSTs, your best bet is either Scotland or the Southwest of England. The latter option might allow for a journey into Kings Cross on a 91/225, then whiz over to Paddington for a blast down to Cardiff or Bristol to pick up a GWR 'Castle' class short HST set. Cardiff to Penzance is possible as single trip if you want to try and replicate a long HST journey, although it'll involve lots of frequent station stops!
