I was hoping it wouldn't come to this, but I'm generally unsure and confused as to which particular railcard I should purchase for my train travels.

I have currently ruled out a Two Together railcard because it is listed for two specific people, and I plan to travel alone on all if not the majority of these trips. I have ruled out Family and Friends Railcard because while it might be beneficial for family members to use it, it won't help me in travelling alone, as the terms and conditions state you must have a card holder and a child for the discount to be valid. Senior Railcard has been ruled out for reasons of being too young, kind of obvious to those who know me but not so much to people here.

Now I could get a Disabled Adult Railcard as I am currently receiving DLA.

The 16-25 railcar railcard also costs more for a year

Since there's a lot of people who know about trains and probably know more about railcards than I do, what railcard do you think I should get?

Depends on how much you travel. If a lot, then get a 16-25 and then a Disabled when you obtain the necessary documentation.

If you can wait for the documentation for Disabled Railcard to come through then do that..

Unless it's changed in recent years:

You will not automatically get paperwork inviting you to apply for the disabled railcard for the first time use; you need to apply for one and back it up with supporting documentation including giving your doctor's details.

It's only for renewals that you get a reminder.
