Why are the overhead wires so high in photos of Class 76 locos at Penistone?

I occasionally get updates from PInterest, and often they show some fine old photo's of class 76 locos at Penistone. I always get a bit disturbed by these as the overhead catenary seems always to be so far above the ground that the pantographs are almost straining to reach them! No other station between Sheffield and Manchester seems to have the same problem. Can any fellow forumite who perhaps has some inside knowledge of this shed some light on this curious phenomenon?

The station is on a hill; the roads nearby pass underneath the railway line.

My conclusion: it will be because of the station canopy.

Thanks for the reply, @yorkie! The first photo actually has a discussion about this issue. They talk about the presence of level-crossings and similar, as @Elecman suggested, but I'm sure that the station canopy must have been a contributory factor as well. I can rest easy now - this was bothering me!
