Doddle stopped being of any value when it could no longer be used as a general post address. Store-restricted drop-off points are commonplace nowadays and Doddle offered nothing new in that market, it was the dedicated stores that made it worthwhile using. Such a service probably needs to be subsidised for it to be worthwhile - the integration with the left luggage facilities at major stations was probably the most practical iteration, even if those were somewhat hampered by staff being unable to operate the requisite X-ray machines. They seem to have pulled out of everywhere apart from Morrisons now. Losses to date exceed £100m, so not a great success.
It was an extremely useful service while its original incarnation lasted, but since the withdrawal of general delivery addresses, I haven't used it once. Why bother?
