Hearing something has derailed around Wigan North Western. Does anyone have details of what has derailed and where?

I've heard 6J11 derailed at Wigan South Junction, but no other information.

It seems to have been cleared, at least enough to allow 2C16 (13:21 Wigan North Western - Liverpool Lime Street) to get past Wigan South Junction.

6J11 is a Civil Engineer's train of some sort: 11:32 Wigan Canal Sidings - Warrington CE Sidings. The only time recorded for it is at Wigan Station Junction.

Manchester Evening News Article for anyone interested:
All lines are blocked after a train 'derailed' at a station in Wigan.
According to National Rail, the train has derailed at Wigan North Western station this afternoon. Engineers are on their way to the scene.
National Rail said: "A derailed train in the Wigan North Western area means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled or revised. This is expected until 18:00."

It was a tamper that SPADed WN48, which is a ground signal, and went to explore some ballast instead.

I'm glad to see humour is alive and well in theae forums. It's the right response, given laughter is the ballast medicine.
