darn...Yep. They will send you a rejection email. They told me even 5 minutes outside of the 60 is not accepted. It’s due to health and safety of drivers.
Thanks for the response though! Just got to wait for the next...

I find this odd, normally they just take it down, I’ve never seen them change the date of closing. I know they would have had a lot of applications, but does this say they have not had the normal amount expected and it’s been quiet last few days. Our Fire service recently recruited post covid outbreak and they have not had an interest for jobs like normal. I wonder ?I’ve just noticed they have reduced the closing date from 09/07/20 to 06/07/20, hopefully we shall start to hear something soon. Good luck everyone.
...I'm about 15mins out of the 60min radius according to Google maps ... Only found this forum after I had submitted the application!!
Is it going to be a quick case of 'rejected application' because of this?
Maybe people are choosing stability over opportunity in these uncertain times?...does this say they have not had the normal amount expected and it’s been quiet last few days. Our Fire service recently recruited post covid outbreak and they have not had an interest for jobs like normal. I wonder ?
Having been through the testing process twice, and interviewed by 2 different TOCs, I can say it is tough but don't give up
I'm going through driver training with WMT. If anyone has questions about applying, testing, training, and/or Bletchley depot specific, just pop me a message and I'll do my best to answer.. Since lockdown, I've had route learning DVDs and my rules to revise, but still spare time on my hands. Hopefully I can be of some help. Good luck to all!
I can’t really give you advise as such because there’s no right or wrong answer. It should be a paragraph of text with 4 answers A-D you simply have to put them in order of most likely to least likely....well that’s what the last SJT consisted of for me. Hope this helps a little.Hi guys, does anyone have any advice on what the SJT is and what it involves. I’ve just received an email saying my application was successful and I need to take the online assessment. Any advice or insight would be really appreciated! Thanks
This will be the internal SJT. It usually consists as @Sal79 said of a 4 way multiple choice. 15-20 questions. It will be hypothetical driver scenarios. They're looking to see how well you follow rules, stand your ground, be responsible, delegate tasks, prioritise time, preparedness. As I said earlier in the thread, I was railway customer service, and had to forget that. They're looking for what a driver does, not what station staff do!Thanks for the advice! I’ve been told that if I fail this assessment I may not be able to take another SJT with any other TOC for at least 6months is this true? Or would that Only apply if I was taking it with the same TOC?
I sat a SJT with the OPC recently, do you think this is an internal one or will my pass with the OPC be ok? Thanks S-Car-GoThis will be the internal SJT. As for reapplying, I'd say that refers to the TOC, not all of them.
I always thought it would only be affected if you sat stage 1 or 2 again as that would over ride your results for better or worse.I sat a SJT with the OPC recently, do you think this is an internal one or will my pass with the OPC be ok? Thanks S-Car-Go
Well I haven't seen this year's applications, but it sounds the same format as last year. The SJT was internal, and Abellio sent a link to shl.com (online assessor) to take the assessment. OPC tests or not, it doesn't matter. You have to pass this first.I sat a SJT with the OPC recently, do you think this is an internal one or will my pass with the OPC be ok? Thanks S-Car-Go
Thank you, I’ll do that tonight then.Well I haven't seen this year's applications, but it sounds the same format as last year. The SJT was internal, and Abellio sent a link to shl.com (online assessor) to take the assessment. OPC tests or not, it doesn't matter. You have to pass this first.
From taking internal tests with other TOCs, I've found you normally hear quite soon afterwards if you didn't pass it. I would say no news is good news at this stage? For anyone who has completed the SJT online assessment, have you had your results yet? When i submitted my final answer it said something along the lines of "You will hear from us shortly" and this was yesterday evevning. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for us to find out if we have passed or not?
Hey, I took the test last night and got the same response as you and I just checked it was marked as completed. Im afraid I don't know how long they take to get back regarding the results. For anyone who has completed the SJT online assessment, have you had your results yet? Hi , haven’t as yet took mine, although only got my link this morning so appears my reply was later than everyone else’s. Looking at doing mine tonight when I have some thinking space ... how did you find it was it testing and were the answers very similiar ? chuffed I found this Thread as we can all relate to the same feelings ..Hey, I took the test last night and got the same response as you and I just checked it was marked as completed. 4000, blimey. They can take their pick then can’t they. No wonder the conditions are so stringent. I assume that means that the application we filled out was probably filtered out electronically to get us to the SJT stage ? And that if we are successful at that stage then the application will probably only be reviewed by human interaction at that point. They have had over 4000 applications for this pool
so be thankful your application passed but hopefully saved it if don’t get through as will come up again
the sjt I believe is internal and nothing to do with opc just another sift stage
good luck to all
