Any advice on how to sort tickets for the Wuppertal Schwebebahn? I understand that there are ticket machines on the platform.

Also any car parking advice would be appreciated

Yes ticket machines either on the platform, or at street level at Oberbarmen. Press the Union Jack first if you don’t understand German.

Standard VRR fares apply, e.g. a 24h ticket for Wuppertal (price range A, starting at any stop in Wuppertal) is 7,3€. Parking should be possible at Vohwinkel railway station (ca. 10 minutes walk to the Schwebebahn station) or at Oberbarmen

Is it a loop, or an end to end line? In either case, how long does it take to traverse all the stops?

do they insist on clearing the trains at the ends, or can you ride the turning loops?

You can use the DB app. Put in your start and end stations. For example Wuppertal-Hbf and Wuppertal-Oberbarmen and click on an itinerary. It doesn't matter if the itinerary does not include the Schwebebahn. Then on 'Buy ticket' then 'to offer selection'. You can then choose from the range of VRR tickets, for example EinzelTicket Erwachsener (adult single) or 24-Stunden-Ticket 1 Person (24 hour ticket).

OR-if visit is in jn/jl/au the just 9€ MONTHly for ALL of DE/local transport-incl metro/bus/tram/thisbahn/local trains etc-as extensively descirbed in other post nearby. Should/is sai to be also available from ticket machines-perhaps not all-sure these at DB. Valid till end of that month, not 31 days till (x-1)
Nearby between Wuppertal and Slingen is a tram museum-Bergische Museumsbahnen-onle open weekends
Slingen has extensive trolley bus syetm-with even a turntable at 1 outer end

That town is called Solingen, not Slingen. The trolley turntable (Burg Schleife) has long been out of use due to articulated trolleybuses not fitting on it. But I've seen they have new 12 meter trolley buses so it might be served again.

The Solingen trolley network extends into Wuppertal as well, with trolleys running on their small diesel engine to get to Vohwinkel station as the Schwebebahn is in the way for the overhead lines to reach all the way to the terminus.

This is not the case. The Solingen trolleybuses have always run under the Schwebebahn using the wires. No change whatsoever. As I remember the former Wuppertal tram and trolleybus system managed to run underneath the Schwebebahn at all locations thus the height of the wires isn't a problem.

What has happened is the Solingen trolley system has been extended a short distance (approx 300m) to directly serve Vohwinkel mainline (DB) station. Rather than wire this very short section (which includes bridges that are too low for a wired system) new trolleybuses were equipped with a small diesel engine for that trip.

The classic trolleybus loop into Vohwinkel underneath the Schwebebahn and the Schwebebahnhof has always been wired.

Yes, the wires are there (was wrong about that). But the trolleybuses are not using them anymore, probably as they only put the pantograph back up at the first stop after Vohwinkel railway station, which is around the corner from the Schwebebahn station.
See this picture I took over there...
