Further to the thread about Doncaster to London fares, does anybody know why there are two sets of "Any Permitted" fares from Wymondham to Ely. See:
http://www.brfares.com/#expert?orig=WMD&dest=ELY
One is priced by East Midlands Trains and the other by Greater Anglia. The prices and restrictions are slightly different for each.

I tried a dummy booking via the Greater Anglia website and both were offered on all appropriate trains.

EMT provide a rather limited service from Wymondham so I guess their fares are a historical thing, dating back before the Anglia/One/NXEA/GA service was established.

It seems odd to have two sets of (seemingly) permanent fares set by different operators on a flow.

The EMT-set fares are routed ANY PERMITTED whereas most of the AGA-set fares (except the child flat fares) are routed ANY - PERMITTED (note the dash). Previously these would have also been routed ANY PERMITTED (without the dash) and would have overridden the EMT-set fares, so you wouldn't have seen them. Great example of fares complification in action.
