Even if Exeter goes half-hourly? I thought there were also one or two services that already get an empty unit attached at Bristol heading north - single south of Bristol, double north of there?
When Exeter goes half hourly there will be even less stock available to run an extra needless service to South Wales. There are no empty stock moves to attach a set at Bristol.

Certainly a sensible solution...the current Bardon Hill ECS could work to Swansea ...............
You mentioned this 'Bardon Hill' twice, so I thought I would point out that I think you meant 'Barton Hill', did you not? 221129 did not correct you, but I think that's where you mean. Hope that is helpful.

The morning Cardiff extension is still in the consultation timetable though, and it changes from 220 to 221, because they think it needs more capacity.
Agree there’s no other empty stock about to strengthen anything else. As a couple of us have said earlier these sort of non standard ‘extras’ only work because they’re in marginal time at start or end of service.

Oh yes there are no plans to get rid of the current service. Sorry I should have stated that.
