Previous threads have said I am very unlikely to get work experience at 15 with EMT or XC. (Realistically, the only 2 operators I can use,) so what about on heritage railways?

THESE?
Ecclesbourne
Peak Rail
GCRN
GCR Leicester (LOVE this line)

Forms are due in after the summer break! :D

Simplest way, email them / write to them.

I looked at doing something similar for my work experience but none of the local operators seemed to do it. You could try as previously said writing emailing or phoning(the best option in my opinion, you know you've been acknowledged)

Depends if you want work experience in the tourism industry, or to gain an insight into obsolete engineering skills (there is serious money to be earned there, once you are experienced enough to go self - employed).

Nothing whatever to do with gaining an insight into working for the mainline railway.

Midland Mainline used to do it. I did mine at Derby station in 2001 when I was 15.

Where I am now does work experience - in some cases, this has led to a proper job. Best thing to do is to ask around at a local level.

While not an insight it would give you a greater knowledge of railway operations than many by working at a heritage line. Also very enjoyable!

Go for the heritage railways.

Don't make the mistake I did, which was working in an IT office for 2 weeks.
