To celebrate 20 years of the Yeovil Railway Centre the site is holding a weekend gala.

For the modern traction fans ex BR class 50 D400/50050 Fearless will be on display, cab visits and engine room tours will be available and the D400 Funds sales stand will also be present.
Also visiting for the weekend courtesy of DC Rail will be a class 56, (expected to be 56303), it is planned for the loco to haul trips on the Clifton Maybank spur demonstration line, it will be sharing these duties with YRC steam loco 0-4-0 'Lord Fisher'.
At the moment the 56 is at least planned to operate between 13:00 and 14:00 on both days of the event.

On Saterday UK Railtours will be using a SWT Class 159 unit(s) to visit Yeovil and Gartell Light Railway (arrive Yeovil Jct at 10.45 and depart 17.15).

On the Sunday the site will be hosting an incoming railtour hauled by Steam loco 44932, (Due to arrive at 15.30 and depart at 16.42) the loco will be turned on the sites turntable and serviced, we believe the train will also have a WCRC diesel on the rear, so at least 3 ex BR diesels could be present but please bear in mind the WCRC diesel is not part of the gala.

Also during the corse of the weekend there will be.....

Gauge 1 Model Railway & 3 other visiting layouts + the resident layout + Trade support (Ray Heard)
Real Ale Bar
BUG Fest (creepy crawlies!)
Birds of Prey (flying displays) - Saturday only

We encourage visitors to come by public transport if possible. The Centre is part of Yeovil Junction station (London Waterloo - Exeter line).

This starts at 10am from the bus stop outside Pizza Hut (Leisure Complex at bottom end of Yeovil Town Centre) and then runs at 30 and 00 minutes past hour until 16.30. Return buses from Yeovil Junction run at 15 and 45 minutes past hour with final departure at 16.45. This link is complimentary and although every effort will be made no liability will be entertained in the event of the link not running or ceasing to run for whatever reason.
