Is it just me, or

Even if the Selby works go ahead, presumably services could go on a rather long diversion?
...
There's still no information from Hull Trains about what's going on tomorrow, bad customer service.

You can only be so prepared for a huge pile of slag collapsing, displacing the track and closing an important diversion route for pre-planned engineering works planned in advance to be carried out at the least disruptive time.

Hull
Goole
Snaith
Knottingley avoider
Shaftholme Junction
Doncaster
I bet theres very few crews who sign that though! Could be a solution for Hull Trains if the summer Selby Swing Bridge works go ahead.
Any up to date pictures of the scene or has it not changed much the last couple of days?

It probably looks like this by now:
1H01 0948 Kings Cross - Hull runs as booked but will have extended journey time from Doncaster due to undertaking a diversionary route (approx 30 mins)
1A96 1830 Hull - Kings Cross Cancelled throughout - (Road Replacement will be in place from Hull/Brough/Howden/Selby/Goole) - then passengers will connect in to East Coast Service at Doncaster
The annoying thing is, all the trains from Hull to London beforehand are running on the diversionary route, bar the one I want, ****take.
Any ideas on what the booked route will be for these services?
and another:
Non-reinstatement is not a realistic possibility. The route serves massive amounts of cargo to and from the North Lincolnshire ports, which forecasts predict will increase. There site of the landslip is approximately 300m long. A new alignment of the track to the south of the spoil heap would cost significantly less than doubling approximately 12 miles of track, and a massive upgrade of the signalling infrastructure to accommodate anywhere near the amount of flows which run past that location.Nobody on this forums wants a line closed.
But If the reinstatement is extremely expensive and insures will not cover the bill. It might not be viable to reinstate the line.
2 people taking a rather dangerous walk along there...
Nah - they were fine - they were wearing reflective clothing!

Well, one of them is, even if it is the wrong colour!
It's only trainproof if it's orange!

Just an educated guess, but probably not .Do you think NR could get away with running trains if they draped a huge orange shroud over the landslide...? I wonder...
Is it just Hull Trains going that way?going via snaith and hare park...
Well, one of them is, even if it is the wrong colour!
Says a lot about the residents of Hatfield & Stainforth though, since track workers are not allowed anywhere near the area due to the threat of it moving again without warning, but 2 locals can simply casually walk up to it...
