As many as the tanker can fill up at the moment isn't it?

How many gas buses have arrived? Just the one for now?

Only ever was 1 gas bus coming there was a bid for government money to fund about 25 buses but that fell through.

Ive just had a look at it in Lawrence Hill fleet number will be 39401 and seating is H39/31F it also has tables upstairs towards the back.

Thanks for the info Steve. Look forward to seeing it and travelling on it.

However, we should bear in mind that we've had a long history of experimental vehicles from the geofenced Electrics on the 72 to the chip fat Dart and others besides. We shall see what happens but you only have to stand at the top of Park Street on a sunny day and look across the city to see that we need to sort out the emissions. However, they do need to sort out the raft of private cars and vans too!

Looking forward to getting a ride on the BioGas bus on the 1 sometime soon! Though hopefully First will publish a timetable of the specific workings the bus will operate to, like they did with the Poo bus on the 2 a couple of years ago. Otherwise if it's operating at different times every day, it won't really be very easy to locate and be able to get a ride on.

Wonder why?

Hi Tom,
Most likely for the Park&Ride service for the big surfing competition that's taking place shortly at Fistral Beach, Newquay.
One of our Yeovil drivers told me he was taking a Decker down this week for the event and would be on the P&R for the event.

According to some photos on the Firstbus Enthusiasts Facebook group, ten 12-plate Geminis (from the Olympic batch) are heading to Swansea from Leeds. Apparently an equal number of Streetlites will be heading in the opposite direction.

Assuming this is true and not #fakenews :p, would these be the first double deckers at Swansea since about 2004ish (I think that's when the last of the C-FCY Olympians were withdrawn)

It'll also mean Cymru will have 14 deckers in their fleet. Any more and the space-time continuum might be disrupted. :P

36212-4 have arrived with 47629-31 heading to North. Understand the deckers may be heading to the 8.

There is another orange E400 in Weston. Couldn't see the fleet number as it is in the workshop. It is definatley 33412 or 33419 as they were both outside.
The new orange Excel bus in Weston is 33829, the first of the 13 plate examples. This has been off for accident repairs and was intended to be the first one back on orange.

One of the Streetlites has now been branded for the 8. Interestingly, rather than featuring prominent advertising for GWR or Temple Meads, it is covered in animals advertising the zoo. Also stickers saying something about the quickest way to the shops i.e. Cabot Circus.

Of course, it was running on a 9!

Are these for the A1 or U1?

If it was for the U1 I could understand

Dual doors for the A1 would make sense too wouldn't it? It is also a service where departing passengers are concentrated on a few stops - Bristol Airport, Temple Meads, Bus Station.

Given how First have been using dual door vehicles, I'd tend to agree with you and that the A1 would be more likely. Similarly with the replacement of the 903 with the first Metrobus route. Could this be a floating spare as per 35150 that could fill in on the A1, Metrobus etc as I'd expect the A1 to have a livery in Airport house colours?

Dual doors for Bristol
To speed up dwell times, First Bristol is poised to take delivery of 24 long wheelbase dual entrance/exit buses.

Designed for the city’s Metrobus rapid transit routes, they have Scania chassis with ADL Enviro400 bodies, built in Falkirk.

Their first deployments will be for the University of Bristol contract (Hengrove depot) and the UWE service (Lawrence Hill depot).

These are for Metrobus and UWE routes hence dual doors.
the Airport ones will be Enviro 400 City,s and are due around January.

There is no dedicated University of Bristol service is there, although many do call there. I wonder which one it is referring to.
As for the UWE service, I wonder if it actually means the U1 (Current 16), or if it is in fact service UWE.

Thanks Steve. The livery didn't make me think of the airport but should've twigged that they weren't Citys that had been mentioned for the A1.

My thought was mainly for the 903 replacement rather than the U1 only because of the numerous stops that are set up for single door vehicles. Hadn't even thought of the UWE service truth be told.

So 24 new deckers due soon - must get out in Bristol. I've been mainly confined to the P&R recently!

We know the A1 will be new Double Deckers
We know the new U1 will be new Double Deckers

The 903 will be axed, with the service replaced with metrobus, now who has won? Will it be Singles or Doubles. Bearing in mind if they are doubles they will have to be low height ones like the buses for the A1.

We also have to bear in mind some A1 services will continue via Bedminster as currently.
