I completed the OPC test (initial) and haven't heard anything back. Should I expect to progress from here, the application is still valid on ScotRail portal?

I'm in the same boat as yourself . I did the first OPC test but i never got an invite for the SJT test (second one) . I havent heard from OPC or Scotrail either .

I am assuming i haven't been successful but I heaven't heard either way and my application is still on the portal

Hi, I am awaiting an interview for a Motherwell based trainee drivers job after passing my initial tests. Could anyone point me in the right direction of who or where would be best to contact in regards to getting some help or helpful information to do with the interview. Thank you in advance!

The Depot manager I'd imagine. Just go in, show face, and ask if they are available for a chat.

Have you had a reply since completing your sjt? Or Planning ahead for the interview stage?

Good luck

Did you apply for the March trainee train driver position and get a response saying you would be offered an interview after you SJT?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but is the SJT different from the initial tests that include the Group Bourdon test? I sat the initial tests on 25th March in Glasgow, I got an email to say id passed roughly 1 week later and was told id get an interview shortly, its been just over two weeks since I got the email saying id passed. After reading this I understand its just a matter of waiting it out.

No mate you seem a lot further down the road than most people , the SJT is an online test before you get invited into assessment centre.

May I ask was this for the 2024 application intake?

I applied in 2022 mate but heard nothing until the beginning of March 2024 asking if I was still interested

Yeah railway is notorious for taking a while with recruiting. Am not expecting an answer anytime soon tbh definitely be in for the long haul. I sat the SJT 24th march this year.

Just from recent posts in this thread I'm understanding that internal applications will take priority regardless of experience. I could be wrong but does put me off a bit having been a lorry driver for some time now I understand that companies like to promote within and that's great but waiting 2 years to even find out if you will even be allowed to sit a test to determine if you fit the mould is a bit excessive in my opinion but again I don't understand the railway recruitment process.
