TfW - Trainee Conductors - Various Locations (31/03/22)

I’m not entirely sure about the other depots, but I know there was a course for Rhymney at the end of March. They did say the valleys courses were quite quick. Does anyone know when the next Rhymney course is or is anyone waiting for Rhymney?

    Rhymney Line Disruption 1/5/2024

The 6:12 (2P05) Rhymeny to Penarth service only got as far as Bargoed this morning. Apparently, according to TfW, there’s trees on the line with the possibility of a landslide and that the train may have struck it? According the RealTimeTrains, it was operated by 150253. Does anyone know where...

TfW - Trainee Conductors - Various Locations (31/03/22)

I remember when I had my assessment last year for guard and I wasn’t too sure how to dress but thankfully I went for smart casual. I’m just waiting to be put onto a course now

    Transport for Wales 769's

No photo unfortunately but 769452 is heading back to Canton being dragged another Class 769. Just saw it passing through Pontlottyn as 5Z55

    Transport for Wales 769's

I think it’s the fifth unit to be delivered to Cardiff? I’m sure the units delivered are 769002/003/006/008/452. With 769008 the only one making it to Rhymney and back. There is 4 more remaining 769s to be delivered and one of them is the last 769/0 to be delivered which is 769007. I believe it...

    Transport for Wales 769's

Colas 37421 is on its way from Rhymney to Cardiff Canton Sidings as 5Z70 this morning. I presume it’s heading back to swap places with 37418 on class 769 thunderbird duties when they restart

Keolis Amey Wales - Future Rolling Stock

I was under the impression that they were having pantographs fitted on the 756s and 231s anyway?

Keolis Amey Wales - Future Rolling Stock

Not quite because the 756s will be Tri-mode trains whereas the 231s will be diesel-electric trains. The only difference is the batteries that will be fitted to the 756s

    Transport for Wales 769's

Just a heads up, 37025 has made its way up to Rhymney Sidings from Cardiff Canton between Tir Phil and Pontlottyn. I assume it would be there ready for when they resume training again on the 769s?

Progress of delivery of cascaded/refurbished/PRM modified stock to TFW/Wales and Borders

Just a heads up, there appears to be a path for today from Eastleigh TRSMD to Cardiff Canton, arriving here just before 1pm. If I remember correctly, there’s a photo of a class 67 in TfW livery with a Mk4 set that’s recently been in the workshop in Eastleigh, could this potentially be the first...

    Transport for Wales 769's

I was just wondering, I looked on real time trains and could see the 2nd run back up to Rhymney later from Canton but couldn’t see a return back to Canton? Does that mean the 769 will be potentially staying overnight at Rhymney, If so I presume to train the staff there?

    Transport for Wales 769's

It’s no problem, just glad the units are making progress towards entering service hopefully! However, I did notice that the second run only got to Heath High Level again then returned back to the depot again, another engine issue?
