    How to Use Trainline Ticket

The small amber light next to the Oyster/Contactless readers does, in my experience at e.g. Waterloo/Victoria, turn red when a valid e-ticket is scanned on the separate 'barcode' reader (whereas they turn green when presenting a valid Oyster or Contactless card) despite the barriers opening. Not...

Transport Focus recruiting for Penalty Fares appeals panel members

I imagine the type of people who apply to be magistrates, which is an unpaid position.

Network Railcard on train departing Oxford before 10am?

And on this Network Railcard page, the 'easement list' linked to at the top of the page (dated November 2022) is a different file to that linked to at the bottom (which is dated December 2022).

    Advance for non-existent GC service

Thanks both. I will suggest going down the Delay Repay route. The actual arrival at St Pancras was 1641 (vs originally planned arriving at KGX of 1541) so that should just about tip over the 60 minute threshold for GC@s delay repay.

    Advance for non-existent GC service

My other half held an Advance ticket for the 1346 GC service from York to Kings Cross today (25th June). Due to (apparently long planned) engineering works there were no GC trains running all day. Notwithstanding the poor showing re: lack of communication about the cancellation of all GC...

Doors failed to open at Waterloo (1A20)

Was this to do with the 377s needing to lock on to a GPS signal to confirm the train was at a station where the doors could be opened, but due to Victoria being covered there was some workaround that took a small amount of time to reset/spoof a GPS signal to convince the train it was at a valid...

    Fake Railcard

In my experience (iOS version), it does allow you to take/save a screenshot but shows a warning message telling you in no uncertain terms a screenshot is not valid, and the Railcard is only valid when displayed from within the app.

Southeastern to be taken over by OLR

This looks to have been flagged in Go-Ahead's annual accounts for year ended 27 June 2020, announced in September 2020. So looks like DfT/LSER have been aware of it for at least 18 months.

Buying tickets from London zone boundaries online.

Was there not already a legal case underway about this (against SWT/R and SE?)

    Carnet tickets

Expiry is 2 months for SWR's carnets. Looked into it for my partner (who has a part-time commute to London from Ashtead/Leatherhead), but these are the handful of stations where SWR's smartcard (and therefore carnets) is not valid (you are expected to use Southern's key smartcard); even though...
