Teesside Airport: Route to Aberdeen cut by Loganair, now picked up by Eastern

I’ve flown with them before and had no issues. Their Humberside route from Aberdeen has reasonable loading so clearly folk are. Time will tell how this goes for them.

Teesside Airport: Route to Aberdeen cut by Loganair, now picked up by Eastern

I did see they had picked it up, I do suspect they are looking at Newcastle or have already done so and ruled it out.

Teesside Airport: Route to Aberdeen cut by Loganair, now picked up by Eastern

I do wonder if Eastern may take up this route as with them having an Aberdeen base it shouldn’t pose any crewing or basing issues. I suspect this would come around should they opt to also pick up the Newcastle flights, which they have previously flown.

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

Slightly away from the current conversation…I was casting my mind back to some old services, mostly from the early 2000s. One that sprung to mind was the old 415, supported by Aberdeenshire Council, which ran evening services between Aberdeen and Alford via Westhill and Dunecht. There is a...

The "And in other news..." thread

A bit concerning regarding the potential lack of harvest. We have very little resilience in our food supply, especially with the loss of prime agricultural land for various reasons. Fingers crossed it is just a warning and not reality!

    Veteran’s Railcard - Named Companion

Nothing like it being simple  Great, thank you for the advice :)

    Veteran’s Railcard - Named Companion

This is probably a daft question but I’m not quite sure of the correct way to do this and the FAQs on the site aren’t clear (unless I’m missing it). I have recently added a named companion to my Veteran’s Railcard and wondered on the correct way to purchase tickets for it. if I was to, say...

    Arbroath - Platform 3

It’s a through platform and could be accessed from the north, albeit the connection was severed a long time ago. It could easily be reconnected if needed.

    Arbroath - Platform 3

Platform 8 is the other side of the island where 7 is, the track there has been used to stable LNER sets in the past. Oh, I didn’t know the containers had stopped!

    Arbroath - Platform 3

I‘m not sure what freight really comes up this way now, off the top of my head there’s the containers to Craiginches, clay slurry from Waterloo Quay and the odd cement. I don’t think there’s anything else but they are all quite short consists.

Not a problem, explains why I haven’t been able to find them. Thanks for letting me know :)

    Arbroath - Platform 3

It certainly would make sense for reasons like that. Out of interest, does anyone have any links to the documents for the signal, platform etc enhancements mentioned in the posts above?

    Arbroath - Platform 3

This is maybe a daft question but does anybody know why the local Arbroath to Dundee stoppers don’t utilise the third platform there? I appreciate that the south facing point from the platform and south crossover would need reinstating (and possibly track rehabilitation following vegetation...

Model Rail Scotland '24 - damp squib?

As I was saying on the other thread, some of the layouts were spectacular in looks but a lot did feel like a diorama. I appreciate technical hiccups occur, especially with the more complex layouts but I got the impression that some of this could have been worked out before the show. I don’t...

Model Railway exhibitions (that you might also be attending).

I think Eastfield is just being used as an example, mostly due to its gargantuan size and amount of rolling stock that just sat there, it should have been one of the highlights of the show but it was one of the largest disappointments. You are right though, many others were like that. I was...

Model Railway exhibitions (that you might also be attending).

Absolutely, I should have said hello when there! I was just in a world of my own  Agreed, it was very impressive looking but in the ten minutes I was there I saw one train move. A bit disappointing for a layout that had so much potential.

Some spectacular looking layouts but I was disappointed by the lack of running trains, which was something I didn’t understand.
