Hi,

Am trying to book a Bedford-Wilnecote SVR Route NOT LONDON - and I would like to travel via Leicester and Birmingham. Both East Coast and NRE say I cannot do this and have to go via Leicester - Nuneaton - Tamworth instead. I cannot personally see anything stopping me going what feels like a completely logical route - does anyone have any ideas? :)
Thanks,

Mike

That would be why - was misreading one of the maps! Thanks Nick :)

Next question - what is the cheapest ticket that will allow me to go that way - outbound today and returning Sunday afternoon? :)

TrainsCanBeCheaper suggests here:

£37.80: BEDFORD STATIONS to BIRMINGHAM STNS, OFF-PEAK R route NOT VIA LONDON
£7.20: BIRMINGHAM STNS to WILNECOTE STAFFS, ANYTIME DAY S route ANY PERMITTED
£7.20: WILNECOTE STAFFS to BIRMINGHAM STNS, ANYTIME DAY S route ANY PERMITTED

so I suspect there's no savings available except by looking for anomolies. I guess that if you could find trains that stop at Water Orton (which you won't!) the route would probably be Permitted.
