Maybe where you are but that's not the case nationwide. Some TOCs have schools of apprentice drivers planned to start on various dates throughout this year.
Oh I didn't mean totally bin them off. But Thameslink only took on trainees until recently and have for the first time in many years recruited qualified. Also Lner in Newcastle hadn't taken qualified until recently. I meant that some tocs only took trainees and now they want qualified. Of course you can't stop taking trainees as people retire etc .
