Other depots also have been given out for stage 1. It will be a waiting game batch by batch untill the roles have been filled. Could be days, weeks months before being sent for stage 1. And based on how those that sit assessments progress, will determine when the next batch of ppl will be sent . Unfortunately you just need to sit and wait . if you don’t hear anything it just means those people who where ahead of you have progressed far enough where they no longer need to fill the positions. There are many applicants and only so many spaces to send people for stage 1. So yh just be patient practice while you can and hopefully everyone wiil receive that email for stage 1 eventually

Think in all there was intially 10 Vaccancies. Getting to Assessment center is definitely one of the hardest stages with most TOCs.

Contacting GA recruitment does still leave much to desire at least from the last few campaigns I've seen. Whilst responses to emails sent to said email address are "not monitored", getting an actual reply varies between person through out the whole application validity period which is pretty poor.

Hi all. Is the assessment day for GA definitely split over two still? Makes no mention of it in the invite to go.
Also, does anyone have a contact telephone number for them?

Hi guys,

The Norwich positions closed early for mainline before I realized they were recruiting again. Reluctantly, I applied for depot driver. I wonder if any of you know if the training for Depot is similar to Mainline. If I got in as a depot driver, how much easier would it be to eventually become mainline?

One other question. I stopped running about a year ago because it makes my knees hurt, and they are not like they used to be. Is this going to be a problem in regards to a medical?
You complete roughly an 8-10 week training course for depot driver, it is shrunk down version to mainline course. As for going mainline there isn’t currently a progression path in place you have to apply and come out ontop of others.

As far as I know, Depot driver to Mainline progression does happen but it isn't a right/ automatic to happen after X amount of years. I believe you have to however have a minimum of 1 or 2 years as a Depot Driver before becoming eligible but then that only means you're in the mix of others some of who would have already been waiting an amount of time to progress.

Friend of mine was told that you'd not have to resit Psychometrics come to progression to Mainline for GA
I was a depot driver at Colchester, 6 months in applied for mainline at London. Got the job and was told had to complete 1 years productive before being released. 3 days after my years productive, i have 5/6 weeks left at the academy before starting my driving hours

Hi all, Not wanting to jump ahead of anything, but what are the Rota's for GA out of Colchester? Typical start times etc, used to shift patterns and working a 10 week Rota but the rail seems a different world. I've searched a few things that come up from years ago (maybe still current)
8 weeks on 2 weeks off, mainline early start is about 4am, last finish around 2am
Depot early is 6:30am start and you have various daytime afternoons and evening shifts and then night shifts as well but only 1 week of nights in an 8 week period.

Nobody happens to have heard back anything from the Southend Victoria Depot have they? I've attempted emailing through to no reply.

GA have been like this for the past 3 campaigns. You'll be contacted when and whenever thru the 6 months, possibly never. Only a few get emails returned from recruitment in each campaign. Just have to sit tight and get applying around until you hear something.

I applied for Bishop's Stortford. Had stage 1 last Wednesday, there was about 16 people in the room. I think they also had another 2 dates I could have picked when booking this, so potentially 42 candidates at the moment.

I just got my invite to stage 2 yesterday which also had 3 dates, so I'm not sure how many have made it through. I don't know how many there were for each location either. This was my 3rd year applying for GA.

Maybe the next batch of stage 1 invites will go out soon unless they've got enough that have gone through. I'm not really sure how it works.

What is stage 2? MMI or was that on stage 1 and stage 2 is DMI?

Probably enough considering the first time they posted it mentioned If I remember correctly that they'd be looking for 10 positions to be filled across the depots in total. Of course this number will most likely go up as time progresses in the 6 months. The first round however seems to have been just under 50 people taken for Assessements.

Just thought I'd share I got an email today for the assessment booking for the Ilford depot position.
Fantastic they're indeed slowly getting to people here and there. Just waiting for one of my own Mainline posts to see movement.

Thanks guys, yes seems like they are going through each depot slowly. Sadly didn't get time to apply for other depot and mainline driver positions
