Identification of a grey box at my local station

Can anybody help with what this grey box is at my local station? - it is on the outside of the track.

Its a telecoms location case.

It's a standard railway operational telecoms cable cabinet. The reference on the sign is odd though and doesn't follow the standard NR FTN numbering system.

Certainly is different to what I have seen. Assume it is 205miles and 3 chains but no idea what the R means.
