The Class 56 Farewell.. 56081,56098.. 14/01/2023

The Class 56 Farewell organised by UK Railtours ran on the 14th January 2023 with locomotives 56081 and 56098 in top and tail formation. I filmed the train arriving and departing Watford Junction as it headed north early in the morning. The train went on to visit Leicester, Spring Bank and Peterborough.

Change the vid to 2023, it has 2022 on it.

I was on the train (joined at Bedford) - a good trip, ran more-or-less on time all the way round, wasn't raining when we got to Barrow Hill and we even managed some sunshine around the Selby/Hull area.

Particular thanks to the cheerful and efficient buffet crew who kept us non-dining passengers fed and watered all (of a long) day!

Outward route to Barrow Hill was via Corby, Leicester (reverse) then Trent, Lenton & Trowell Jcts. and Alfreton. Return via (almost) Hull, Selby, ECML to Peterborough (reverse), Leicester and MML to Bedford (passing through the Doncaster area twice on different routes). See attached map from the tour booklet.
