These are on their way to complete my new weed killing train! Most chuffed with my week's work! 8-)

A few of the most recent additions:
- Bachmann Class 66 - Repainted into 66734 'Platinum Jubilee' by Andi Walshaw
- EFE Rail Class 58 - Re-numbered & Renamed into 58049 'Littleton Colliery'
- Cavalex Class 56 - 56091 in DC Rail

Slowing down on Model purchases due to working on the actual layout

Oooh - I think we'll need a photo of the full set together 8-)

Yeah I think there will be plenty more on the way.

I’ve got a few blue grey Mk2C’s on order, I’m going to see how they colour match with other manufacturers existing blue/grey stock before going ‘all in.’ Doing the WHL, I can have a train with AS Mk2’s, Hornby Mk3’s, Heljan ETHEL and AS or Bachmann 37, so the colours looking okay together is essential!

I was waiting a while and starting to get a little anxious, but keep the faith. I’m intrigued to see which ones you have gone for!

You can see here with my other updates!

Thank you! That is only our scenic board in the pictures - our actual layout is being built in the loft. Its Outwoods Junction on Instagram if you're interested in taking a look :D

I had some "sealed" Parkside BR 16T mineral wagon kits arrive today; advertised "still in sealed bags". Trouble is that they are without the wheels and bearings of the original kits. No mention of this in the auction - on close inspection, the packs have been opened, original staples removed, pack re-stapled. Back to the seller. Sigh.

Several excellent locos from Alexandra Palace this year:

1. SR Bulleid Booster in BR Blue
2. Class 66 in Freightliner G&W
3. Class 153 in East Midlands Trains
4. Class 92 in DB Cargo Romania
5. Class 90 in Railfreight Distribution (which cost just over £20!)

Along with a good amount of rolling stock.

(Photos show above trains)

A Hornby 0-6-0 Sentinel 'Stanton'. I've de-Statoned it & gave it a level of weathering I like.

Also some OTA timber wagons I'm scratchbuilding from old Bachmann VDA & old Hornby VBA chassis

Some lovely items in the previous few posts
Here are my new additions ......
20205, with Scottie Dog (but only one buffer! West Coast Models £4 Oleo buffer pack to the rescue!)
20240320_181116.jpg

Next, 47711, sound fitted. The Greyfriars Bobby statue is 100m from my old school!
20240320_180428.jpg

Then, I finally got one of these, and it's a renumbered one, so reasonably happy despite the cost.

20240320_181347.jpg

And last but very definitely not least, D338, sound fitted. It sounds amazing for the size, and sometimes when I'm working on something I will leave it idling nearby on the programming track! And when I open the throttle, a stupid grin appears on my face!

20240320_180641.jpg

Now I really need to get on with building a proper layout to run them on, instead of them trundling round my programming track!

Some rather nice purchases on display I must say.

I’ve barely bought anything recently, although I did manage to pick up three more PCA’s for my cement wagon rake at the show this weekend for £30:

(Typically, Wayne’s taken the slope too quickly and hit the railings)

Lovely scene with the 31

And I think Wayne needs a driving refresher course, he must be long overdue one (or probably several) by now ;)

Let's hope the gritter has been out or the bus will never get up the hill!
I hope the show went well - in addition to the bargain PCAs!

Recent new items:
- Hornby Class 43's in National Express East Coast - arguably got nothing to run them with but just wanted to satisfy the completionist in me and get all the liveries of HSTs
- Bachmann Class 90, 90041 in Freightliner Green. Got it on sale from TMC for £137 - absolute bargain for a model this detailed imo!

You could always just run them with each other - the ultimate way to provide an excuse for an HST (power cars anyway) on the smallest of layouts!

Light engine move! ;)

Wow - well done with that 90, I have two Bachmann 90s, and they both set £230 holes in my budget each!

I've just ordered one of these, Hornby have them on special offer at £239.99

I was tempted by those and some EMR/T Mk3's, but decided it was an unnecessary diversion...

A truly awesome haul, that lot!

Very nice, and that is a great price for such a high spec locomotive.

I like those, and a in similar vein, these TTA's have just arrived for me from Bachmann. I have another 5 on order to make up a more convincing rake with different degrees of weathering. The factory weathering seems pretty convincing:

This beauty. Of which more here

(I had to plonk it on the layout just to give an idea of the sheer size of it!)
