Virgin's first class is nicer than LM's but between New Street and Wolverhampton for the 16-20 minute journey you are unlikely to see any benefit. First Class team will have started clearing up once the train has left New Street.
Agreed, there are 10TPHs between Wolverhampton and Birmingham, so it would be easier to just get a standard class ticket and get there faster
